Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation:Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu Friday urged the eye-specialists of both Bangladesh and India to address the issue of increasing screen-time pressure on Human Eyes and to keep a sharp eye on communal militancy and terrorism.
He said this while inaugurating Bangladesh-India Joint Ophthalmology Conference titled ‘Collaboration 2016’ at the Bashundhara International Convention City in the Capital this evening.
Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla attended as special guest at the function with chairman of Bangladesh Eye Hospital Dr Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury in the chair.
Bangladesh Eye Hospital, Disha Eye Hospital Barrakpore and Susrut Eye Hospital Kolkata jointly organized the two-day conference.
Professor Syed Modasser Ali, former advisor to the prime minister, Professor Ava Hossain, Vice President of Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, Professor Mohammad Sharfuddin Ahmed, President of Bangladesh Ophthalmological Society, Dr Debashish Bhattacharya, Immediate Past President of All India Ophthalmological Society and Dr R C Paul, Organizing Secretary of All India Ophthalmological Conference 2016 also spoke as guests of honor at the event attended by 400 ophthalmologists from Bangladesh and India.
