Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation:State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki Wednesday made a fervent call to all to come forward in aid of saving victims from attackers instead of capturing videos of brutality.
“It is important to help rescue a victim instead of taking videos of an attack,” the state minister said while visiting Sylhet college student Khadiza Begum Nargis at Square Hospital in Dhaka.
She said the people who witnessed the assault standing afar could easily save Khadiza from the vicious attack if they could build combined resistance.
Calling upon the people to build social resistance against all anti-social and criminal activities, the state minister said the attacker of Khadiza would face exemplary punishment whatever political party he belongs to.
“The government is pursuing zero tolerance against attack on women and such criminal activities, and we would take the Khadiza case to the speedy tribunal so the culprit gets his due punishment soon,” Chumki said.
She asked doctors to ensure proper treatment of the student.
