Bangkok, Broadcasting News Corporation: “To realize our two nations’ vision for a digital nation and society, Bangladesh and Thailand would work closely towards an MOU to share best practices and technological innovations in the ICT and Digital economy sectors”, said Thai Deputy Prime and Minister-in-Charge of Thai Digital Economy and Sociality Ministry, ACM PrajinJuntong in charge of during a bilateral meeting with Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP, Bangladesh’s State Minster for ICT yesterday in Bangkok during the latter’s two-day visit to Thailand on 4-5 October 2016. The ICT State Minister brief the Thai DPM on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Vision 2021 and Digital Bangladesh development doctrines for building a knowledge-based digitally enabled society.
The Bangladesh ICT Minister and Thai Deputy Prime Minister discussed a Framework Cooperation MOU in the ICT and Telecom sectors with Bangladesh for knowledge sharing, technical cooperation, training, bilateral investments, women in IT and sharing of best policy practices including on cyber security andBPOs. Mr. Palak invited Thai FDI in the IT sectorin Bangladesh including offering a dedicated High Tech Park for Thailand’s IT investors. The Bangladesh ICT Minster congratulated the Thai DPM for transforming the erstwhile Thai IVCT Ministry into the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and invite him to the Digital World Conference in Dhaka scheduled on 19 October 2016.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand Ms. SaidaMunaTasneem and Additional Secretary of the ICT Ministry Mr. BanamaliBhoumik were present at the the Meeting.
