Ashis Chowdhury, Special Correspondent, Broadcasting News Corporation: The security forces and all relevant state departments are taking comprehensive preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the funeral prayers (Janaza) and burial of Begum Khaleda Zia—the three-time former Prime Minister, uncompromising leader of the democratic movement, and BNP Chairperson. Her Janaza will be held on Wednesday (December 31, 2025) after Zuhr prayers at 2:00 PM at the South Plaza of the National Parliament and the adjacent Manik Mia Avenue. She will be laid to rest beside the martyred President and heroic freedom fighter Ziaur Rahman.

On Tuesday (December 30, 2025), several meetings were held at the Chief Adviser’s residence, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the National Parliament area regarding this matter. Following the directives of the Chief Adviser, all preparations are being carried out meticulously. Necessary measures are being taken so that people from all walks of life can participate in the Janaza of this national leader without any hindrance.
