Bangladesh High Commission New Delhi celebrates Armed Forces Day of Bangladesh

New Delhi, Broadcasting News Corporation : Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on Monday celebrated the Armed Forces Day with a vow to uphold the image of Bangladesh Armed Forces and boosting the country’s positive image across the world, as a whole. To celebrate this special day, Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich, AVSM, the Director General Military Intelligence of Indian Army graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Many war veterans of Indian Armed Forces, diplomats of different countries and most of the Defence Advisers/Attaches residing in Delhi attended the event. On arrival, the Chief Guest laid floral wreath to the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and paid homage to all martyrs of liberation war 1971. The National Anthems of both the countries were played.Besides, a video clip containing the contribution of Bangladesh Armed Forces was played to appraise the gathering about the significance of this day. The Defence Adviser, Brigadier General Md. Abul Kalam Azad, ndc, afwc, psc, G+ has delivered the welcome speech. Appreciating the presence of the esteemed guests, he highlighted on the progression of defence cooperation between India and Bangladesh, as well as the advancement of Bangladesh Armed Forces at home and international arena. In his speech Mr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, the High Commissioner-designate of Bangladesh to India highlighted on the strong diplomatic bonding between the two neighbouring countries.
Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich on his special remarks stressed on the deep connection between the two armed forces. He also assured to enhance the defence cooperation to a newer height. The program was ended by cutting of cake and a special dinner for the guests.
