Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei Darussalam observed the Home Coming Day of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

Bandar Seri Begawan, Broadcasting News Corporation : To mark the Home Coming Day of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei Darussalam organized a program at the Chancery premises on 10 January 2023. The program was joined mainly by Bangladesh community members, and a few distinguished Bruneians. The program started off with recital from the Holy Quran, and continued with placing floral wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation. The Bangladesh High Commissioner, Mrs Nahida Rahman Shumona read out the messages from the Hon’ble President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh on this occasion. Proudly hailing the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the greatest Bengali of all times, the Bangladesh High Commissioner highlighted the significance of the Home Coming Day of the Father of the Nation. She expressed her sincere gratitude towards Bangabandhu for creating this beautiful and bountiful country ‘Bangladesh’ which she represents in Brunei, and also eulogized the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for tirelessly, prudently, and efficiently doing everything to turn the dream of the Father of the Nation into reality. She particularly thanked the Prime Minister for the inauguration of the first ever Metro Rail in Bangladesh on 28 December 2022, as well as the inauguration of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge on 25 June 2022. These two megaprojects are not the only ones that we have, the world knows today, she told with immense pride, the phenomenal socio-economic development that has occurred to Bangladesh, thanks to the wise and visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She also interacted with the Bangladeshi workers and assured them of the full support of the Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei Darussalam. She advised them to work hard, respect the local laws and regulations, and avoid doing anything that would tarnish the image of Bangladesh.
