Two teams of the Ministry of Commerce monitor the market in the capital to keep the price of daily necessities stable and control the market situation. Meanwhile, the supervisory team fined a businessman 7 thousand taka. A team of the Ministry of Commerce, under the leadership of Sultana Akhter, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, conducted market surveillance activities at the capital’s Banani raw market on Thursday (October 10, 2024). During this time, rice, dal, eggs, flour, green chillies, vegetables, fish and chicken markets are monitored. Team members scrutinize sales receipts including price list hanging. The monitoring team issued warnings as well as directions to various establishments for not properly posting price lists. On the other hand, under the leadership of Mohammad Zakir Hossain, the deputy secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, the purchase price of daily essential products was checked in the raw market of Hazaribagh tannery intersection of the capital and the updated price list of the products was urged to be hung. In the raid, a shopkeeper was fined Rs 7,000 for not having a price list and keeping expired products. Officials of various departments under the Ministry of Commerce were present in the campaign. It should be noted that the prices of eggs, onions and potatoes have decreased slightly compared to the last few days.
