We hear about subsidies in agriculture, but despite being a sub-sector of agriculture, the fisheries and livestock sector does not receive any subsidies. This sector also needs subsidies.

The advisor made these remarks as the chief guest on the second day of the four-day international conference and workshop titled ‘Political Commitment to Agriculture and Food,’ organized by the Bangladesh Agricultural Journalists Forum (BAJF) at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital on Friday (28 November 2025).
