Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has issued directives regarding fireworks, sky lanterns (Fanush), and firecrackers during the English New Year celebrations to prevent air pollution, noise pollution, and fire hazards.

This decision was taken in a recent review meeting held at the Ministry with relevant stakeholders.

According to the directives, the use of fireworks, sky lanterns, and firecrackers will be prohibited across the country, including Dhaka Metropolitan area, during the English New Year celebrations. These activities cause air and noise pollution, lead to fire incidents, and result in the death of birds.
