Ashraful Islam, Chapainawabganj Correspondent, Broadcasting News Corporation: RAB-5 has detained seven drug dealers during an anti-narcotics drive in Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj. During the operation, 59 pieces of Yaba and 10 grams of heroin were seized from their possession.

According to sources from RAB-5, Rajshahi, CPC-1, the drive was conducted based on secret information around 8:30 PM on Tuesday (30 December 2025) in a banana orchard at Kalinagar village under No. 13 Ghorapakhia Union of Shibganj Police Station. The seven individuals were caught red-handed while buying and selling drugs.

The arrestees are—Md. Mizanur Rahman (45), Md. Nasir (57), Md. Babu (26), Md. Sirajul Islam (50), Md. Kawsar (26), Md. Sahalal Islam (29), and Md. Enadul (50). All of them are residents of different areas in Shibganj Upazila.

RAB stated that 59 pieces of Yaba and 10 grams of heroin were recovered and seized from the respective possession of the detainees. Subsequently, the arrestees, along with the recovered drugs, were handed over to Shibganj Police Station for further legal action.

RAB further added that since its inception, the Rapid Action Battalion has been conducting regular operations to maintain overall law and order and to eradicate drugs from the country.
