Khulna, Broadcasting News Corporation: The opening ceremony of the 10-day Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Entrepreneurs Fair was held on Sunday (January 4, 2026) in the afternoon at the BSCIC grounds in Shibbari, Khulna. The chief guest was Khulna Additional Divisional Commissioner (Education and ICT) Mohammad Nazmul Haque.
The chief guest said that the uniqueness of the BSCIC fair is that it is an entrepreneurs’ fair. Most of the entrepreneurs in small and cottage handicrafts are women. Through these small-scale initiatives, women not only achieve financial success but also contribute to the country’s economy. He further said that through the BSCIC fair, small entrepreneurs get the opportunity to expand their products and branding.This fair creates a bond between buyers and sellers.
The event was presided over by Md. Ariful Islam, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department of Khulna District Administration. Special guests included Deputy Police Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Abdullah-al-Masum and Regional Director of BSCIC Badal Chandra Haldar. The welcome speech was delivered by Tahera Nasrin, Manager of the BSCIC Regional Office. The greeting speech was given by Golam Saklain, Deputy General Manager of the BSCIC District Office. With the assistance of the District Administration, the BSCIC Khulna District Office organized this fair. With 40 stalls, the entrepreneurs’ fair is open to everyone every day from 9 AM to 9 PM.
At the end of the event, the chief guest and special guests visited various stalls.
