The verdict was issued on Saturday afternoon (31 January 2026) following an operation in Bireswarpur village of the upazila. The penalized individual, Md. Erfan Ali, is an employee at the Ministry of Education office in Dhaka. This information was confirmed by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Shamim Hossain. Executive Magistrate Md. Shamim Hossain stated that Erfan Ali was conducting election campaigning in Bireswarpur at his residence with local people of the upazila. Acting on the information, an operation was carried out around 4 PM. During the operation, the allegation of election campaigning was confirmed. At this time, under section 21(b) of the ‘Code of Conduct for Political Parties and Candidates in Parliamentary Elections 2025,’ Erfan Ali was fined 20,000 Taka under section 27(a). The penalized individual immediately paid the fine.
