Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: A three-month training course (fifth batch) has been inaugurated in 48 districts of the country aimed at creating employment through freelancing training for educated job-seeking youth. In this phase, 3,600 young men and women will receive training for employment.

Youth and Sports Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul inaugurated this training course online on Sunday (January 4, 2026) at the ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat. Trainees from 48 districts of the country also joined via the virtual platform.

Under this project implemented by the Department of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the training is being conducted by the training provider E-Learning and Earning Limited. This program is being implemented simultaneously across 48 districts in eight divisions of the country. Job-seeking youth aged 18 to 35 who have passed at least HSC or equivalent examinations have received the opportunity to participate in this training.

The chief guest of the event, Dr. Asif Nazrul, was impressed to learn about the overall management of the project and the success of the trainees, and he highly praised this project. He remarked that the role of this project in reducing unemployment in the country and preventing deception of the youth is undeniable. Learning that 17,200 trainees have completed training under such a project, he said that instead of 17 thousand, 1.7 million trainees should be brought under this training so that the job-seeking youth of the country can overcome the curse of unemployment and enrich themselves, their families, and the nation through job creation. He also commented on the importance of not limiting this initiative to the project alone but continuing such programs under the mainstream after assessing the ministry’s capacity. Notably, from January 2024 to December 2026, with a total GoB (Government of Bangladesh) funding of estimated BDT 2,999 million, the freelancing training program started simultaneously on January 1, 2025, in 48 districts of the country, targeting 28,800 trainees.
