Mymensingh, Broadcasting News Corporation: Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Advisor for Primary and Mass Education, said that in our country, science has long been used as a decorative tool rather than being given proper importance in practical applications. Therefore, to advance the country, emphasis must be placed on quality and practical research.

The advisor made these remarks in his speech as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the workshop titled ‘Research Methodology for NAPE Faculties and Field Level Researchers’ held at the National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE) in Mymensingh on Saturday (January 10, 2026). The workshop was attended by officials involved in field-level research activities of the Primary Education Department and members of the NAPE faculty.

The advisor said that the main goal of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education is to educate and nurture students. To achieve this goal, research should be developmental and problem-solving oriented for the education system. Research topics should be selected based on real problems, and the effective role of possible solutions should be considered with importance.

At the workshop chaired by Farid Ahmed, Director General of the National Academy for Primary Education, the Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, delivered a speech as a special guest online.
