Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: Strengthening the effective link between industry demand and skills development programs and making the skills development system more labor-market oriented, the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) has provided around Tk 10 million worth of office and technical equipment to 13 Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) in the country. This initiative will play an important role in enhancing industry engagement and building the institutional capacity of the Industry Skills Councils. On Monday (February 2, 2026), these office and technical equipments were handed over to the ISC representatives at an event held in the NSDA conference room in Agargaon, Dhaka. The chief guest at the event was M. Siraj Uddin Mia, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister\u2019s Adviser. The program was chaired by Dr. Nazneen Kawser Chowdhury, Executive Chairman (Secretary) of the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA).
\nIn his speech, the chief guest said that industry skill councils must play an important role in making the skill development system labor market-oriented by ensuring direct participation of the industrial sector. He mentioned that by increasing the institutional capacity of ISCs, it will be possible to develop skilled manpower based on the real demands of the industry, improve the quality of training, and create sustainable employment.<\/p>\n
In her speech, Dr. Nazneen Kawser Chowdhury, the Chairperson, said that NSDA is relentlessly working to build an integrated and sustainable national skill development ecosystem based on industry linkages. She said that providing the necessary offices and technical equipment to the industry skill councils will make their activities more dynamic and effective. This will further strengthen the formulation of sector-specific skill standards, curriculum development, and the implementation of industry-oriented training.<\/p>\n
In addition to the representatives of 13 industry skill councils, NSDA members, directors, and related officials were present at the event.<\/p>\n
