The 45th president\u2019s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, reveals in his forthcoming White House memoir that he knew Trump was recovering from his nasty bout of COVID in the fall of 2020 \u201cwhen he requested one of his favorite meals.\u201d \u201cMcDonald\u2019s Big Mac, Filet-o-Fish, fries and a vanilla shake,\u201d the husband of Ivanka Trump recounts, according to a copy of the book obtained by the Washington Examiner. Trump\u2019s affection for the Golden Arches is well-known and was much commented on during his time in office. In 2018, Michael Wolff suggested in his controversial book \u201cFire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House\u201d that one of the main reasons the then-president preferred fast food was because he \u201chad a longtime fear of being poisoned.\u201d \u201c[O]ne reason why he liked to eat at McDonald\u2019s \u2014 nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade,\u201d Wolff wrote. Around the same time, former Trump aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie wrote in their own book that the real estate mogul preferred \u201ctwo Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish and a chocolate malted\u201d when the craving struck. In 2019, the 45th president even served fast food to the Clemson Tigers and North Dakota State Bison when they visited the White House to celebrate their college football national championships. Trump tested positive for COVID-19 in October 2020, checking into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for three days to undergo treatment. At the time, the president remained positive about his health, saying he was \u201cfeeling good.\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t be afraid of Covid. Don\u2019t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs &amp; knowledge,\u201d Trump tweeted after leaving the hospital. \u201cI feel better than I did 20 years ago!\u201d While Kushner does not reveal many details of his father-in-law\u2019s condition, he does claim that then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows was \u201cnervous\u201d about Trump\u2019s health. According to Kushner, it was Meadows who encouraged Trump to check into Walter Reed in the first place. \u201cAs the president recovered at Walter Reed, we all recognized that the [re-election] campaign would have to wait until Trump was both physically strong and medically cleared to return to the trail,\u201d Kushner wrote. \u201cIn the meantime, he spoke directly to Americans through social media to update them on his recovery.\u201d Kushner\u2019s memoir, \u201cBreaking History,\u201d is due out Aug. 23.
