(Reuters\/File)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>DUBAI, Broadcasting News Corporation : Swiss tennis great Roger Federer announced his retirement from the sport on Thursday, saying next week\u2019s Laver Cup will be his final ATP tournament. \u201cAs many of you know, the past three years have presented me with challenges in the form of injuries and surgeries. I\u2019ve worked hard to return to full competitive form. But I also know my body\u2019s capacities and limits, and its message to me lately has been dear. I am 41 years old,\u201d Federer said on Instagram. \u201cI have played more than 1,500 matches over 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than I ever would have dreamt, and now I must recognize when it is time to end my competitive career. \u201cThe Laver Cup next week in London will be my final ATP event.
