US Border Patrol chief Raul Ortiz reportedly blamed the Biden administration’s policies for the surge in migrants crossing the border.

WASHINGTON, Broadcasting news corporation : The chief of the US Border Patrol blamed President Biden’s “no consequences” immigration policy for sparking the surge of illegal immigrants crossing into the US, according to a report. Raul Ortiz made the frank admission that the administration’s lax policies are to blame in a recorded deposition that is part of a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody. “In my experience, we have seen increases when there are no consequences,” Ortiz said in the July deposition, which was obtained by Fox News Digital. A Florida state attorney then asked Ortiz whether more migrants would likely make the trip to the border because of the lack of consequences. “There is an assumption that if migrant populations are told that there is a potential that they may be released, that, yes, you can see increases,” he answered. “So, it will increase at an exponential rate. Is that what is being suggested here?” the attorney pressed. “Well, I do think it will increase, yeah,” Ortiz replied.
Ortiz, who has 31 years of law enforcement experience, also admitted that the number of encounters between border officers and migrants this fiscal year has already exceeded the total for all fiscal year 2021.
During a line of questioning about the “push-pull factors” driving immigrations rates — including economic uncertainty, violence and political upheaval — the attorney asked Ortiz whether he thought migrants had a “favorable or unfavorable view” of former President Donald Trump’s immigrations policies. “They had an unfavorable view,” Ortiz said. The attorney then asked whether “aliens illegally entering the United States perceive that they will be able to enter and remain in the United States” since Biden was elected president.
