Saber engages in discussion with COP29 President Designate at UN Environment Assembly

Nairobi, Kenya, Broadcasting News Corporation: The Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury takes part a significant meeting with the President Designate of COP29, Mukhtar Babayev of Azerbaijan, on the sidelines of the 6th United Nations Environment Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya today. The meeting facilitated discussions on pressing environmental issues and strategies to address climate change challenges. Minister Saber Chowdhury emphasized the urgency of collective action to mitigate the impacts of climate change and protect the planet’s biodiversity. President Designate of COP29 Mukhtar Babayev expressed his appreciation for Bangladesh’s commitment to environmental conservation and its proactive role in international climate negotiations. He highlighted the importance of cooperation among nations to achieve sustainable development goals and safeguard the environment for future generations. Environment Minister also had discussion with the Minister of Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Belgium and Special Representative of the President of Kazakhstan on international environmental cooperation. They underscored the significance of collaboration and diplomacy in advancing global environmental agendas. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together and with other stakeholders to address the challenges of climate change and promote environmental sustainability.
