LONDON, Broadcasting News Corporation :A committee of the United Nations said it was “deeply concerned” about the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in June that ended the nationwide right to abortion, according to a Reuters report. The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination said the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court had a “disparate impact on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of racial and ethnic minorities, particularly those with low incomes,” said the report released Tuesday. The 18-member committee had asked Washington to take specific measures to stop criminal prosecutions of women and abortion service providers, the report said, quoting committee member Pansy Tlakula. The UN body also called for reparations for Black Americans as part of a broader effort to address centuries of enslavement, said the report.
