Inauguration of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair

Rupganj, Narayanganj, Broadcasting News Corporation: Trade Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin said that the Dhaka International Trade Fair has long served as a platform that connects product producers with consumers, entrepreneurs with investors, and Bangladesh with the global market. He noted that the role of entrepreneurs in this fair is crucial. By showcasing the quality of products and services, innovation, and competitive capabilities, they enhance the country’s reputation. He expressed optimism that participation in the fair will create opportunities to understand new markets, become familiar with international standards and technology, and improve product quality.

The adviser made these remarks during the chairman’s speech at the inauguration of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal on Saturday (January 3, 2026).

The advisor stated that the Dhaka International Trade Fair is one of the major milestones in the country’s business and trade. The fair is not merely an exhibition of goods; it showcases Bangladesh’s new initiatives, innovations, and commercial development. As part of steps to diversify the country’s export products, the government implements various programs. Considering the contribution and potential in exports, different product sectors are respectively declared as ‘highest priority sectors’ and ‘special priority sectors.’ Additionally, to promote export expansion and incentive-related activities, one product is declared as the ‘Product of the Year’ each year. Through this process, necessary measures are taken to encourage the production and marketing of the declared product. This time, ‘Paper and Packaging Products’ has been declared the ‘Product of the Year’ for 2026.

At the fair, spaces have been allocated in 324 pavilions and stalls across various categories to domestic manufacturer-exporter companies, general business institutions, as well as foreign companies.
