Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: To increase domestic and foreign investment and make the business operation environment easier, faster, and more dynamic, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed with 11 service-providing organizations through the One-Stop Service (OSS) portal of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA).
The MoU signing ceremony was held on Monday (January 19, 2026) at the BIDA conference room in Agargaon, Dhaka.
The Chief Guest at the event was Chaudhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (with the rank of State Minister). The ceremony was presided over by BIDA Executive Member Air Commodore (Retd.) Md. Shaharul Huda.
Among the organizations signing the MoU were four banks and seven city corporations. The banks include Rupali Bank PLC, Dhaka Bank PLC, Bank Asia PLC, and Bengal Commercial Bank PLC. The city corporations include Rajshahi, Khulna, Mymensingh, Barishal, Comilla, Gazipur, and Narayanganj City Corporations.
Through this memorandum of understanding, the concerned banks and city corporations will integrate their own systems with the Bidder Online One-Stop Service System. As a result, investors will be able to access services such as opening a bank account, obtaining a trade license, and various financial and city corporation-related investment services quickly, transparently, and without hassle through online channels.
In his speech as the chief guest at the event, Ashique Chowdhury said that our goal is to reach a point where everyone—from a small entrepreneur to an investor in a large industrial group—can access all necessary government services through a single website and a single login. We want to move away from the culture of submitting the same information repeatedly to different offices. He added that countries that have progressed significantly in investment have made the data provided once usable across the entire government. Bangladesh is also moving in that direction. This journey is not easy and time-consuming, but we are determinedly moving forward.
Emphasizing the effective implementation of the one-stop service, he further said that it is not enough to just launch the system; it is necessary to regularly monitor and receive feedback on whether the services are being used and what kind of problems investors are facing. Cooperation from partner institutions is crucial to improving the quality of services. At this time, he congratulated the newly joined institutions and thanked the BIDA officials and staff for their sincere efforts in implementing the one-stop service. It is worth mentioning that according to the One Stop Service Act, 2018, and the One Stop Service (Bangladesh Investment Development Authority) Rules, 2020, BIDA launched an online one-stop service portal in February 2019 with the aim of providing all important investment-related services from a single platform. In addition to today’s 11 institutions, BIDA has previously signed memoranda of understanding with 52 institutions. Currently, through the one-stop service portal, 142 services of 47 organizations are being provided.
