Mymensingh, Broadcasting News Corporation: Under the theme “Safe Agriculture, Safe Farmers; Safe Crops, Prosperous Bangladesh,” a three-day Agriculture Fair 2026 has been organized as part of the project to increase crop density in the largest Mymensingh region. On Monday (26 January 2026), this fair was held at the Upazila Parishad premises, organized by the Mymensingh District Agriculture Extension Department. The fair was presided over by Md. Abdur Rahim, Director General of the Agriculture Extension Department, while the chief guest was Dr. Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mian, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture. Special guests included Md. Saifur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh, and Mirza Ashfaqur Rahman, Additional Secretary of the Planning Subdivision of the Ministry of Agriculture.
In his speech, the chief guest said that agriculture is the main driving force of a nation.If the farmer survives, the nation will survive. In that context, various plans have been undertaken by our ministry to make current agriculture safer and more sustainable, and to make farmers more self-reliant and profitable. We hope these will be implemented within a short period. We want to transform agriculture into universal agriculture. During this time, he distributed irrigation-supporting machinery and canvas pipes to farmer groups in the char areas of Mymensingh under the Modern Agricultural Technology Expansion Project in the char areas of Bangladesh. At the same time, he announced the formal inauguration of this fair.

In his speech, the president addressed the attending farmers and said that farmers play a leading role in advancing our country. The sustainable agriculture we are moving towards has become possible because of you. Because of you, Bangladesh’s agriculture has now become exportable. He further stated that such agricultural fairs are one of the key means of simplifying agriculture, and we need to organize more of such fairs for agricultural development so that our farmers can better engage in agriculture.
