Mymensingh Medical College (MMC) campus and hostels have been expelled for life from 8 students and doctors including the president of the branch Chhatra League. Apart from this, the academic activities of 11 students have been suspended for various periods and 4 have been banned from entering the hostel for life. However, 5 students have been allowed to stay in campus and hostels, participate in classes and exams on bond.
On Sunday (November 10, 2024) at noon, Momek principal Dr. This decision was taken in the academic council meeting held under the chairmanship of Namjul Alam Khan. According to the concerned sources, the accused have been accused of extortion, drug use, terrorist activities and torture of anti-discrimination student activists in the campus.
Excluded from college campus, hostel entry, stay and participation in all events for life are:
Dr. Anupam Saha (M-52), Dr. Abdullah Al Hasan (M-53), Dr. Mashfiq Anwar (M-52), Anupam Dutta Arghya (M-53), Dr. Sanjib Sarkar Bonus (BDS-5), Dr. Saiful Islam (BDS-5), Dr. Mahidul Haque Ayan (M-54) and Dr. Zahidul Islam Tushar (M-55). Among them Dr. Anupam Saha as banned organization President of Mymensingh Medical College Branch Chhatra League and Dr. Abdullah Al Hasan General Secretary.
Those whose academic activities have been suspended for two years are:
Rakibul Hasan Rukon (M-57), Mehdi Hasan Shimul (M-53), Meraj Hossain Bandhan (BDS-10) and Rayyan Habib Fagun (M-58).
Academic activities suspended for one year Arnav Saha (M-58).
Those whose academic activities have been suspended for six months are:
Sanjid Ahmed (BDS-7), Shahriar Iftekhar Soumik (BDS-8), Muntasir Ratul (BDS-7), Shams Arefin (M-68) and Asif Iqbal (BDS-10).
The students banned for life from entering the hostel are-
Ashiq Mahmood Riad (BDS-8), Manjurul Haque Rajib (M-57), Ashiq Uddin (M-57) and Kuber Chakraborty (M-59).
Have been allowed to attend campus and hostel accommodation, classes and examinations subject to self and parent’s guarantee-
Shipon Hasan (M-57), Syed Raihan Al Ashraf Mahin (M-57), Asif Raihan (M-58), Digant Sarkar (M-59) and Siam Jawad Pushan (M-59).
In this regard, Mymensingh Medical College Principal and Academy Council President Nazmul Alam Khan said, this decision was taken according to the report of the investigation committee in the afternoon. A student who violates this decision may be granted extended probation in the future subject to the decision of the Academic Council.
