Ashraful Islam, Chapainawabganj Correspondent, Broadcasting News Corporation: Keramat Ali, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate for the Chapainawabganj-1 constituency, has announced his election manifesto. On Friday (06 February 2026), he unveiled the manifesto at the historic Darasbari Mosque premises in the district. The manifesto includes promises to create employment, provide modern education and healthcare, establish railway lines, develop agriculture and mango cultivation, prevent erosion of the Padma River, modernize land ports, relieve traffic congestion, and ensure public safety. It also emphasizes forming corruption-free upazilas, empowering women, and promoting tourism and industrialization. Keramat Ali also expressed hope to establish a full-fledged university in Chapainawabganj, centered in Shibganj. Local leaders including Shibganj Upazila Jamaat Amir Sadiqul Islam and former Amir Sefaul Mulk were present.
