Ashraful Islam, Chapainawabganj Correspondent, Broadcasting News Corporation: Dr. Shafiqul Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, said that if justice is established, the true rights and highest security of women at all levels of society will be ensured. To ensure that women can move freely in society with dignity and are not deprived of their rights, Jamaat will fulfill that commitment. He made these remarks while delivering the keynote speech at a large election rally held at the Chapainawabganj Government College grounds on Thursday (February 5, 2026). After concluding the rally in Naogaon, he arrived in Chapainawabganj around 1 PM, where party workers gave him a warm welcome.

Talking about the main issues and potential of Chapainawabganj in his speech, Dr. Shafiqul Rahman outlined a series of development plans. He said that a permanent dam will be constructed on the Padma River to prevent river erosion and support agriculture, through a planned embankment on the Padma River.
To ensure a fair price for mangoes, the main cash crop of Chapainawabganj, modern mango storage (cold storage) will be established in the district, and special arrangements will be made for exporting mangoes abroad. He announced a plan to develop the entire northern region of Bangladesh as the ‘capital of agro-industry.’

After the public meeting in Chapainawabganj, Dr. Shafiqul Rahman departed for Rajshahi. He is scheduled to speak at the designated election public meeting there as well. Today’s public meeting was attended by a large number of supporters and ordinary people, including top leaders of the district Jamaat.
