After 23 long years, Tarique Rahman came to Thakurgaon and spoke these words at an election rally in the large field of Thakurgaon Government Boys’ High School on Saturday (07 February 2026).

Tarique Rahman said that over the past decade, the people of Bangladesh have not gained political rights. Employment opportunities for the youth were supposed to be created, but that did not happen; the country’s farmers did not receive economic assistance, and the previous autocratic government did not empower women by creating employment opportunities for them. Therefore, we want to give family cards to the women who are the heads of households.This family card will include women’s rights. Farmers will be given farmer cards. If BNP can be elected through voting. Agricultural loans up to ten thousand taka will be waived. To save people from the burden of debt, the government will waive microloans from registered NGOs.

Regarding the economic development of the northern region of the country, he said that agricultural industrialization will be established in Thakurgaon and the northern region to provide employment for the people of this area. The sugar mills in this region will be modernized, closed ration factories will be reopened, and the tea industry of this region will be developed. Additionally, arrangements will be made to open the Thakurgaon airport.

Tareq Rahman addressed the people of the country, saying, we believe that the people are the source of all power. That is why we have come forward in front of the people. With the support of the people, we want to form the government. The people are the owners of this country; whatever progress we talk about cannot be achieved without the cooperation of the people.
