When they can’t resolve the dispute, there is a rule, it has been done in the past, that you leave the political parties in our hands and we will decide in a referendum which one is right. Holding a referendum is a good sign for the nation, not holding one is a bad sign.

He made these remarks at a divisional rally of eight parties on Wednesday (December 3, 2025) at 2:00 pm at the Collectorate Eidgah ground in Rangpur city, demanding five points.

At the time, he also said, “The referendum will decide the parliamentary election. But if the referendum is held on the same day, will the referendum result do any good to the parliamentary election?” Whenever the referendum is held in the future, no matter how it is, we want it first.

At that time, he told the leaders and activists present, “Whenever there is a referendum in the future, no matter what, you will say ‘yes’ to the referendum.” When the leaders and activists present in the field raised their hands in favor of the referendum, he said, “Yes, it was won, the referendum was won.” Those who did not want a referendum or those who are against a referendum have been defeated. And will be defeated, God willing. No one can prevent this defeat. All these thieves and robbers who rob will have no place in Bangladesh in the future.
