Mosahid Ahmed, Moulvibazar correspondent, Broadcasting News Corporation: During the verification process for the 13th national parliamentary elections, out of 31 candidates for 4 constituencies in Moulvibazar, nomination papers of 5 candidates were canceled. The verification took place on Saturday (January 3, 2026) at the office of Moulvibazar District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md. Touhiduzzaman Pavel. A total of 31 candidates and their supporters from 4 constituencies were present at the verification.

Moulvibazar-1 (Barlekha-Juri): In this constituency, the candidacy of 7 candidates was declared valid. The valid candidates are Nasir Uddin Ahmed (BNP), Mohammad Aminul Islam (Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami), Lokman Ahmed (Khelafat Majlis), Belal Ahmed (Independent), Saiful Islam (Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis), Ahmad Riaz (Jatiya Party), and Md. Shariful Islam (Gonofront). The total number of voters in this constituency is 337,816.
Moulvibazar-2 (Kulaura): Among the 8 candidates in this constituency, the candidacies of 7 were declared valid. The valid candidates are: Md. Shawkatul Islam Shaku (BNP), Nawab Ali Abbas Khan (Independent), Md. Syed Ali (Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami), Md.
