Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: Amidst the brutal reality of nationwide firing on students during the student-led mass uprising, Chhatra Dal activist Muttakin profoundly stirred the nation on July 18 by waving the national flag—an inseparable symbol of our independence, sovereignty, and existence—while standing with his chest bared on the Kazla Flyover in Jatrabari.

The historic national flag, a witness to that fearless moment of the student-led uprising, is now preserved with the Acting Chairman of BNP, Tarique Rahman.

On July 18, 2024, Chhatra Dal activist Muttakin displayed immense bravery by waving the national flag in the face of gunfire at the Kazla Flyover in the capital. He handed over that historic flag to Tarique Rahman during a meeting on Saturday (January 17, 2026).

That courageous scene of Muttakin during the movement profoundly inspired people at home and abroad and added a new dimension to the anti-autocracy struggle. Through the handover of the flag to Tarique Rahman, that tale of heroism has been evaluated anew.
