Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: The Honorable Charge d’Affaires of the Singapore High Commission in Bangladesh, Mr. Mitchell Lee, paid a courtesy call on the respected Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.

The courtesy meeting and discussion took place on Sunday morning (January 18, 2026) at the office in Bashundhara, the capital.

The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on the existing political and economic situation in Bangladesh, industry and trade, the upcoming national parliamentary election, state reforms, and other related issues.

Honorable Charge d’Affaires Mr. Mitchell Lee highly praised the positive role of Jamaat-e-Islami in the economic development and democratic progress of Bangladesh.

At the same time, they expressed hope that bilateral relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future.
