Chattogram, Broadcasting News Corporation: The closing ceremony of the Bangladesh Navy’s annual ‘Tennis and Squash Competition-2025’ was held on Wednesday (December 24, 2025) at the ‘Area Tennis and Squash Complex’ in Chattogram. On the final day of the competition, the honorable Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M. Nazmul Hasan attended as the chief guest, and Nadia Sultana, President of the Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association, attended as the special guest. They enjoyed the matches and awarded the winners.
Organized under the supervision of the Naval Sports Control Board and overall management by Banuja Eesa Khan, this seven-day competition featured participation from 48 male and 14 female officers from Commander Dhaka Naval Area, Commander Chattogram Naval Area, Commander Khulna Naval Area, Commander BN Fleet, and the Area Superintendent Dockyard teams.In the final competition of the men’s tennis doubles, the pair of Commodore Mohammad Abdul Wadud Tarafdar and Commodore Abul Fazal Muhammad Ahsan Uddin became champions, while the pair of Commodore Ashraf Mahmud Riaz and Lt. Md. Arzu Ihsan earned the distinction of being runners-up. On the other hand, in the women’s tennis doubles, the pair of Lt. Sadia Sultana Sathi and Sub-Lt. Simbri Arni Sanma became champions, and the pair of Lt. Uzma Anha and Sub-Lt. Naoshin Jahan finished as runners-up to complete the competition. Additionally, in the men’s tennis singles, Lt. Md. Arzu Ihsan became champion and Commander Kazi Shakur Mahmud was runner-up, and in the women’s tennis singles, Sub-Lt. Simbri Arni Sanma became champion and Sub-Lt. Afia Anzum was runner-up. Meanwhile, in the men’s squash competition, Captain Mohammad Nurunnabi Khandakar became champion and Md. Jalal Ahmed Turag was runner-up, and in the women’s squash competition, Lt. Nusrat Jahan became champion and Sub-Lt. Simbri Arni Sanma earned the distinction of being runner-up. During this time, among others, the Commander of the Chattogram Naval Area along with the senior military and civilian officials of the Navy attended with their families and enjoyed the games.
