Mymensingh, Broadcasting News Corporation: A joint force of the army and police has arrested three individuals in Gafargaon, Mymensingh, with a foreign pistol, magazine, bullets, and homemade weapons. Among the recovered arms are one foreign pistol, one magazine, one fresh bullet, and 20 homemade weapons.

The police reported that the arrests were made during a joint operation in the Uthuri and Haturia areas of Gafargaon upazila early Thursday morning (February 5, 2026).

The arrested individuals are Mohammad Kamrul Islam (35), son of Md. Mosharaf Hossain of Uthuri village in Gafargaon Union; his brother Md. Sabbir (23); and Mukhtar Hossain (36), the convener of Gafargaon Upazila Chhatra Dal, who had an arrest warrant. Police said Kamrul Islam and Sabbir are active members of the Chhatra Dal.

According to army and police sources, based on secret information, it was learned that weapons were being stored in a house in Uthuri village. Acting on this information, the army and police conducted a joint raid early in the morning at the residence of Kamrul Islam and his brother Sabbir.
