Ashraful Islam, Special Correspondent, Chapainawabganj, Broadcasting News Corporation: Two drug dealers have been arrested with 7 kg of cannabis in a RAB operation in Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila. The operation was carried out on Saturday (January 3, 2026) early in the morning in the Bargharia area of the Sadar Upazila by RAB-5, CPC-1 (Chapainawabganj Camp).

The arrested individuals are Md. Patu (40), son of the late Napa Pagur from Bargharia area of Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila, and Md. Minhajur Rahman (35) from the same area.

RAB stated that based on secret information, a team conducted a raid on a house in the Bargharia area. During the operation, 7 kg of cannabis was found stored in the southwest corner of the house. A plastic bag used to transport the drugs was also seized during the raid.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrested individuals admitted to being involved in collecting and selling drugs for a long time, according to RAB. Preparations are underway to file a case under the Narcotics Control Act against the recovered drugs and the arrested individuals at Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station.
