Ashraful Islam, Chapainawabganj Correspondent, Broadcasting News Corporation: There was an incident of vandalism at a BNP office in Shibganj Upazila, Chapainawabganj. During this, miscreants broke five cages of the party symbol ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ and threw them into the nearby canal. According to local sources, this incident occurred on the night of Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the BNP office of Ward No. 9, located in Argara Hat area of Daypukuria Union in Shibganj Upazila. In the darkness of the night, organized miscreants entered the office, damaged furniture, and removed the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbols, throwing five cages into the nearby canal. They also fled with important documents. Regarding this matter, Atikul Islam Jewel, Joint Convener of Shibganj Upazila BNP and former chairman of Daypukuria Union, said, ‘This is my personal office, which was being used as a party office. Under the cover of darkness, some people vandalized the office out of enmity. The Sheaf of Paddy cages were thrown into the water.’
