Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: In the ongoing situation in the country, the Bangladesh Army is performing its duties with the highest professionalism, discipline, and dedication to maintain overall law and order. In this context, from Thursday (January 1, 2026) to Thursday (January 8, 2026), several joint operations were conducted in coordination with other law enforcement agencies in the capital and other areas of the country by units under various infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army. In these joint operations, a total of 171 suspected criminals, including terrorists, drug dealers, drug addicts, robbers, juvenile gang members, and thieves, were caught red-handed. From the detainees, 20 illegal firearms, 149 rounds of various ammunition, 10 grenades, sharp weapons, and drugs were recovered. The arrested individuals were handed over to the local police station for necessary interrogation and legal proceedings.
To ensure public safety across the country, the Bangladesh Army is conducting regular patrols and security operations in various regions. At the same time, the army is duly performing its responsibilities to control labor unrest in industrial areas.

In the interest of maintaining overall law and order in the country, such activities by the army will continue. The general public is requested to inform the nearest army camp if any suspicious or unusual activities are observed.
