Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: Sharmin S. Murshid, advisor to the Ministry of Social Welfare and Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, said that services will be provided within 24 hours through the Quick Response Team. In the need to build a new Bangladesh, my ministry, that is, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, demands that in every neighborhood and community we should not let any woman be insulted, nor should any child be subjected to abuse. Our extraordinary youth will oversee every home, every neighborhood, every village. For this reason, the government is going to launch an initiative with a budget of 30.939 billion (GOB) taka to strengthen integrated services for the prevention and redress of violence against women and children and to implement the Quick Response Team program. This initiative will involve the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Local Government Division, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, postal and telecommunication sectors.
He said that through coordinated initiatives with various government departments/agencies and private organizations, remedies and prevention of violence against women and children in the country will be ensured, integrated service programs will be strengthened, and essential emergency services will be provided quickly to survivors through the activities of the Quick Response Team.

He further stated that under this ministry there are 14 One Stop Crisis Centers, 67 One Stop Crisis Cells, a toll-free national helpline center-109 for preventing violence against women and children, a National Trauma Counseling Center, 8 Regional Trauma Counseling Centers, a National Forensic DNA Profiling Laboratory, 8 Divisional DNA Screening Laboratories, and a real-time monitoring database, all working to prevent and respond to violence and abuse against women and children in the country.

He said on Saturday (January 17, 2026) at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka that, under the initiative of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, nationwide awareness-raising campaigns centering on encouraging the participation of women of all levels in the joint referendum to be held along with the 13th National Parliamentary elections in 2026 are being conducted.
At the event, Mamataz Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, presided over the session as NDC, with Lamia Morshed, Chief Coordinator for SDG under the Honorable Chief Adviser, as the special guest. Additionally, senior officials from various ministries, young boys and girls, and media personnel were present. Advisor Sharmin S. Murshid said, ‘If you young boys and girls can manage this, you will be able to build a safe country.’ She said that for the safety of our girls and the security of our children, today’s day should mark our biggest movement at this moment. The advisor emphasized the importance of safety for women’s participation in the 2026 general election. She said, ‘Yes means reform, yes means a new Bangladesh, yes means the safe upbringing of women.’ She stressed voting ‘Yes’ to build Bangladesh anew. Later, the advisor led the reading of the oath for building a new Bangladesh. At this time, the advisor said, ‘To make this country beautiful, we must ensure the safety of our children and protect our girls.’
