Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Institute of Biotechnology (NIB) under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B), a global health research organization. The agreement was signed on Sunday (February 8, 2026) at the meeting room of the Ministry of Science and Technology at Bangladesh Secretariat.
Professor Dr. Sagir Ahmed, Director General of NIB, and Dr. Tahmid Ahmed, Executive Director of ICDDR,B, signed the MoU. The event was attended by the Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Md. Anwar Hossain, as the chief guest.
In his speech, the Secretary said that ICDDR,B is a renowned institution. Through this agreement, advanced research, knowledge exchange, and new horizons in medical services between the two institutions will be opened, which will contribute to the improvement of public healthcare.
The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, the Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and senior officials from both institutions.
