Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: On Tuesday (January 20, 2026), under the chairmanship of the Honorable Chief Adviser at his residence in Jamuna, the 119th meeting of the National Implementation Committee on Administrative Reorganization (NICAR) and the first meeting during the tenure of the interim government was held.
The meeting was attended by six Honorable Advisers, including the Adviser for the Ministry of Finance and the Adviser for the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, as well as 14 government secretaries/senior secretaries, including the Cabinet Secretary and the Chief Secretary. During this meeting, a total of 11 proposals related to administrative reorganization were approved.
To enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the government’s revenue collection management, the proposal to establish two administrative divisions under the Ministry of Finance, named the ‘Revenue Policy Division’ and the ‘Revenue Management Division,’ was approved. It is noteworthy that, in this regard, the Revenue Policy and Revenue Management Ordinance, 2025 has already been promulgated.
The proposal to merge the ‘Health Services Division’ and the ‘Health Education and Family Welfare Division’ to reorganize the ‘Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’ has been approved. In addition, the proposal to change the name of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs to the ‘Ministry of Women and Children’ has been approved. However, the English name of this ministry (Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA)) will remain unchanged.
Considering global environmental heritage, tourism, and economic potential, the proposal to upgrade Satkhira district from a ‘B’ category district to an ‘A’ category district has been approved.
The proposal to establish three new police stations named Purwachal North in Gazipur district, Purwachal South in Narayanganj district, and Matarbari in Cox’s Bazar district has been approved.
Additionally, the proposal to split Raipura in Narsingdi district to establish another new police station has been approved.
Furthermore, the proposal to correct the spelling of the ‘Bhulli’ police station in Thakurgaon district to ‘Bhulli’ has been approved.
