To realize the dreams of the July martyrs, one must vote ‘Yes’ in the referendum

Rajbari, Broadcasting News Corporation: Advisor on Information and Broadcasting; Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Water Resources Syeda Rizwana Hasan has said that to fulfill the dreams of the July martyrs and to achieve an egalitarian and transformed Bangladesh, one must vote ‘Yes’ in the referendum. To make the country free from discrimination, to continue democratic practices, to maintain a balance of power, to ensure the rule of law and just governance, and to keep the administration free from partisan influence, people must vote in favor of ‘Yes’. The advisor made these remarks in her speech as the chief guest at the motivation and discussion meeting on the occasion of the referendum and the 13th National Parliamentary Election-2026 held on Tuesday (January 20, 2026) at the Yasin High School grounds in Rajbari. The motivation and discussion meeting, presided over by Rajbari Deputy Commissioner Sultana Akter, was attended by special guests including Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Mahbuba Farzana, and Rajbari Police Superintendent Mohammad Manjur Morshed. July martyr Abdullah Al Mamun also delivered a speech.
The advisor also said that the government has formed 11 reform commissions, of which 6 commissions are directly involved with elections. Arrangements have been made for a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote on election-related issues. If one does not want to change the constitution at will, wants a balance of power, wants a parliament composed of the lower and upper chambers, does not want a person to become prime minister more than twice, does not want pardons without the opinion of the convict’s victim, and wants women empowerment, one must vote ‘yes’ in the referendum.

Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farzana said that if one wants good governance, elimination of discrimination, change, end of party-based administration, and people-centered administration, ‘yes’ must prevail in the referendum. She further said that the Ministry of Information and its affiliated agencies have taken various initiatives in voter mobilization for the referendum and national elections, as well as in promoting election conduct rules, including using voting vehicles, voting rickshaws, courtyard meetings, loudspeaker announcements, discussion meetings, documentary screenings, and leaflet distribution.

Earlier, at Bir Muktijoddha Shaheed Khushi Railway Field, the advisor inaugurated a rally on the occasion of the referendum and the National Election-2026.
