Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: On Friday (06 February 2026), protests began in front of the State Guest House Jamuna under the banner of Inquilab Manch from the afternoon of 5 February 2026, demanding justice for the murder of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi. Although protests were banned in Jamuna and surrounding areas, the law enforcement initially did not use any force against the protesters. Today, Friday, 6 February 2026, when the protesters tried to break barricades and advance towards Jamuna, and at one point climbed onto water cannons, law enforcement used sound grenades and water cannons to bring the situation under control. The government clearly states that during this time, law enforcement did not fire any bullets. In the interest of maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of the Honorable Chief Adviser, any kind of meetings, gatherings, rallies, mass assemblies, and protests are prohibited in the State Guest House Jamuna and adjacent areas. In this context, the police dispersed the protesters in a completely procedural and lawful manner. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has confirmed that no type of lethal weapon was used during this time.
According to information received from doctors on duty in the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, a total of 23 people, including Abdullah Al Jaber, the member secretary of Inquilab Mancha, received medical treatment after being injured in this incident.
