Broadcasting News Corporation: A three-day workshop on policy, regulation and services has begun in Dhaka, organized by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) with the participation of South Asian telecommunications regulators. The workshop is being held at the BTRC building in Agargaon, Dhaka, from April 28-30, 2025.
It was attended by representatives of the telecommunications and information and communication technology regulatory agencies of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Maldives and Iran, including the host Bangladesh, Nearly 200 expert representatives from telecom operators, government and private organization officials, and telecom and information technology related organizations are participating.
The Asia Pacific Telecommunication (APT) Associate Member Organizations participating include China’s Huawei Technologies, Amazon India, Singapore’s Internet Society Asia Limited, and Belgium’s Cullen International.
Under the chairmanship of BTRC Chairman Major General Md. Emdad-ul-Bari (Retd.) Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Principal Advisor on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the workshop And as special guests, Masanri Kund, Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunication Community, and Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokar, Member of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and Chairman of the SATRC Workshop on Policy, Regulation and Service, were present.
