Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation: Md. Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that since its establishment, the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) has been playing an important role in science and industrial-technology research as the country’s largest public research organization, and the contribution of this institution is commendable. However, due to a lack of necessary promotion, the research outcomes of BCSIR have not reached the desired level among the public.
The Secretary made these remarks on Thursday (22 January 2026) at BCSIR’s head office in Dhaka during a workshop titled ‘Research and Innovation of BCSIR.’ The event was presided over by BCSIR Chairman Dr. Samina Ahmed.
The Secretary, introducing two focused initiatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology—Research to Market and Innovate to Market—said that for the first time in the country, Innovate to Market is being organized, which will be held next AprilHe requested journalists to promote various research activities and innovations on behalf of scientists. He said that BCSIR and the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission have already kept their analytical service activities open seven days a week to serve seekers and to facilitate import-export activities.
The Chairman of BCSIR informed journalists about various products developed and leased by different BCSIR laboratories through a PowerPoint presentation and requested extensive promotion of the research findings of BCSIR.
