The foundation of the digital economy must be built from the Upazila level

Dhaka Broadcasting News Corporation: Foyez Ahmad Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Principal Adviser of the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology, inaugurated the Upazila Service and Information Technology Training Centers established in 100 Upazilas across the country under the Digital Connectivity (EDC) project. The inauguration ceremony, held on Monday (26 January 2026) in the meeting room of the Information and Communication Technology Division, was presided over by ICT Division Secretary Shish Haidar Chowdhury. At the event, Foyez Ahmad Tayyab stated that to build a Digital Bangladesh, it is essential to extend ICT services and skills beyond capital-centric initiatives to the Upazila and grassroots levels. He noted that these centers are already ready in 100 Upazilas, and work on an additional 179 centers will be completed in the next six months.
