IT Incubation Center for Building a Startup Ecosystem

Meherpur, Broadcasting News Corporation: Foyez Ahmad Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser responsible for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said that the purpose of establishing an IT training and incubation center is to develop the startup ecosystem. He stated that in emerging districts like Meherpur, creating skilled human resources and generating technology-based employment is the most crucial for sustainable development. To achieve this goal, an IT training and incubation center has been established in Meherpur. On Friday (January 23, 2026), during the inauguration ceremony of the IT training and incubation center implemented by the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Meherpur, Foyez Ahmad Tayyab made these remarks. Foyez Ahmad Tayyab said that three main objectives will be realized through this center. Firstly, nurturing local entrepreneurs and IT-based small businesses as startups by providing them with necessary infrastructural support.Secondly, creating opportunities for quality employment by training students and youth in freelancing, e-commerce, and ICT skills. Thirdly, reducing the gap between education and practical skills by establishing effective links between universities and the industrial sector. The special assistant further said that the training center will have a modern computer lab, startup space, incubation facilities, and an auditorium with 150 seats. These facilities will be used for entrepreneur development, business training, and skill enhancement. He mentioned that all training provided here will be verified by the National Skills Development Authority, so that the trainees gain recognition both nationally and internationally. Regarding Startup Bangladesh Limited and the Idea Project, Fouyez Ahmed Tayyab said that local entrepreneurs will be able to apply from here for government startup funds, training, and investment facilities if they wish. This will significantly reduce Dhaka-centric inequality.

At the beginning of the program, Foyez Ahmad Tayyeb inaugurated the training workshop titled ‘Specialized ICT Training for College Teachers’ and planted a sapling in the IT Training and Incubation Center premises.

The event, chaired by Mohammad Saiful Hasan, a member of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, featured a special guest speech by Monir Haider, Special Assistant (Consensus) to the Chief Adviser. Dr. Sheikh Bakhtiar Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of Meherpur University, Dr. Syed Enamul Kabir, District Commissioner of Meherpur, Ujjal Kumar Roy, Superintendent of Police of Meherpur, Project Director Arifuzzaman, along with people from various professions and walks of life, were also present at the time.
