Dhaka, Broadcasting News Corporation : President Md. Abdul Hamid has given the following message on the occasion of the World Tourism Day 2022 :
“I welcome the initiative of Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism to observe ‘World Tourism Day 2022′ in Bangladesh as elsewhere in the world. The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day- ‘Rethinking Tourism’ is appropriate in the current global context. Tourism is the natural inclination of human being. Through traveling people can come to each other. They may come across the different culture, history and civilization. We celebrate the ‘World Tourism Day’ every year to create awareness about the social, cultural, political and economic importance of tourism as well as to inform everyone about the contribution of tourism in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals and the national economy. I believe that this initiative will encourage universal participation in tourism related activities as well as realizing the importance of the tourism industry in economic and social development. Bangladesh has enormous potential to develop tourism industry. Every region of this country has distinct beauty and numerous unique touristic and heritage sites. If the tourism industry develops in these regions, employment opportunities will be created for a large number of people, which will become an important regulator in the development of the people’s living standards and the development of the economy. Tourism related public and private entrepreneurs and institutions must work in a coordinated and planned way for advancement of tourism industry. I urge all the public and private stakeholders to carry out development activities in the tourism industry maintaining and preserving the environmental balance and the cultural heritage of the country.
I wish all out success of ‘World Tourism Day 2022’.
Joi Bangla.
Khoda Hafez, May Bangladesh Live Forever.”
